DEPICTING IMPACT OF NATURAL DISASTERS AT A MACRO AND MICRO SCALE.

Sharp edges allude to seismographs in this data visualization about natural disasters around the world during a ten year period. Broken down into twelve types of disasters in five categories, the visualization has two facets. The left focusing on the impact of each type of disaster by comparing total cost of the type and number of deaths caused. The right visualization allows the viewer to compare the frequency of each type of disaster per country compared to the total disasters in that country, thus showing whether or not they are prone to any specific disaster.
